
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Engagement to join our leadership team at Yarrow Heights School. This is a pivotal role focused on promoting positive pupil engagement, behaviour, and attitudes to learning across the school.
Working closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, you will lead on whole-school strategies to create a safe, calm and supportive environment where all pupils can thrive. You will oversee the pupil engagement team, monitor attendance and behaviour, and implement targeted interventions to remove barriers to learning.
This role is ideal for a passionate professional with strong leadership experience in behaviour, safeguarding and pupil wellbeing, who is committed to making a lasting difference to young people with additional needs.
Requirements
Qualifications:
· Degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant experience in education or behaviour leadership
Experience:
· Proven leadership and management experience within a school setting
· Experience of implementing behaviour strategies with measurable impact
· Experience of safeguarding within education
· Experience of writing detailed reports and analysing pupil data
Skills and Knowledge:
· Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
· High level of self-motivation and ability to work on own initiative
· Ability to lead, inspire and manage a team effectively
· Strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures
· Ability to build effective relationships with pupils, staff, parents and external stakeholders
· Ability to analyse data and implement targeted interventions
· Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload

About the Company
Yarrow Heights School is a mixed 7-19, local authority funded, SEN day school for children, most of who are able learners with an EHCP and a diagnosis with ASC and associated needs.
