We are looking for a Humanities Teacher for a fixed term one year contract to cover maternity leave. This would be an ideal opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in an SEN provision.
As a Humanities Teacher at Yarrow Heights School, you'll demonstrate a thorough curriculum knowledge, the ability to innovate and create stimulating lessons which meet each child's needs, so that they make exceptional progress and accreditation, whilst ensuring they gain essential skills and knowledge for their future success. You'll deliver high quality teaching, supported by effective use of resources leading to high levels of achievement for all pupils.
Requirements
Qualifications and Training:
· Qualified Teacher Status (Newly Qualified teachers are welcome to apply)
· Subject Specific Degree
Experience:
· Experience working with children with special educational needs, such as autism, SEMH, and ADHD, is preferred.
· Training in aspects of SEN, i.e., ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism, is advantageous.
· Teaching experience; involvement in school self-evaluation and development planning
· Desirable to have line management experience of departments
· Experience of contributing to staff development
· Desirable to have experience of safeguarding, either as a safeguarding officer, or safeguarding lead.
Skills and Knowledge:
· Data analysis skills, and the ability to use data to set targets and identify weaknesses
· An understanding of high-quality teaching, and the ability to model this for others and support others to improve
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to communicate a vision and inspire others
· Ability to build effective working relationships
· An understanding of the processes involved in EHCP documentation

About the Company
Yarrow Heights School is a mixed 7-19, local authority funded, SEN day school for children, most of who are able learners with an EHCP and a diagnosis with ASC and associated needs.
At Yarrow Heights every pupil is valued and treated as an individual and with respect.
