About the Role:
We're seeking a Maths Subject Lead to oversee and drive the development of our Mathematics department while fostering mathematical literacy and confidence among students from Key Stage 2 (KS2) to Key Stage 4 (KS4). This is an exciting opportunity to combine your teaching expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring that our pupils thrive academically and develop essential problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
As a Maths Subject Lead, you will:
Lead the strategic development of the mathematics curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of all pupils and aligns with school goals.
Provide support, mentoring, and guidance to other maths teachers within the department.
Teach engaging and inspiring Maths lessons to pupils with a range of abilities and needs.
Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning in Maths, ensuring high standards and continuous improvement.
Promote a love for Maths and champion innovative teaching practices.

Job Details:
Full-time.
Salary: £45,000 to £47,000 DOE
Location: Southampton, SO18 1FS.
Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience: Leadership experience and teaching in mainstream and/or SEN secondary schools.
Certification: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required;

Requirements

Ideal Candidates Will:

·         Have a contagious enthusiasm for teaching Maths and a strong ability to inspire others.

·         Hold a degree in Maths or a related subject, with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

·         Demonstrate proven leadership skills, either in a formal or informal capacity.

·         Possess significant teaching experience, ideally in both mainstream and SEN settings.

·         Exhibit excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills.

·         Be self-motivated, reliable, and a resilient, positive team player.

·         Have a deep understanding of safeguarding and equality.

·         Embrace versatility, adaptability, and the drive to make a difference.

About the Company

Yarrow Heights School is a mixed 7-19, local authority funded, SEN day school for children, most of who are able learners with an EHCP and a diagnosis with ASC and associated needs.
