About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Post-16 Lead to join our dedicated team at Yarrow Heights School. This is a key leadership role responsible for shaping and delivering a high-quality post-16 provision that supports pupils with SEND to achieve meaningful outcomes and prepare for adulthood.

You will lead the strategic development of the provision, including curriculum design, quality assurance, and staff leadership, ensuring a strong focus on independence, employability, and personal development. You will also play a vital role in building partnerships with external providers, employers, and families to ensure successful transition pathways for our learners.

Requirements

Experience:

·         Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with substantial teaching experience.

·         Proven leadership experience within SEND, SEMH, Alternative Provision, PRU or Post-16 settings.

·         Experience of working with external agencies, colleges, or vocational providers.

·         Experience of leading curriculum development and quality assurance processes.

Skills and Knowledge:

·         Strong understanding of alternative provision and preparation for adulthood pathways.

·         Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication, and listening skills.

·         High level of self-motivation and the ability to work on own initiative.

·         Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team, holding others to account.

·         Ability to work collaboratively and establish strong professional relationships.

·         Knowledge of safeguarding, SEND frameworks, and health & safety requirements.

·         Strong behaviour management skills and understanding of trauma-informed practice.

·         Ability to analyse data and use it to drive improvement.

·         Full UK driving licence.

·         Access to own car.

·         Minimum GCSE, or equivalent, grade 4 or above in English and Maths.

About the Company

Yarrow Heights School is a mixed 7-19, local authority funded, SEN day school for children, most of who are able learners with an EHCP and a diagnosis with ASC and associated needs.
